Hoover Dam Rafting Adventures offers unforgettable, smooth-water rafting experiences through the spectacular Black Canyon of the Colorado River. Launching from the base of the iconic Hoover Dam, these tours give guests a perspective of this world-famous landmark that simply cannot be experienced from above.

Motorized raft tours combine history, scenery, wildlife, and adventure in a comfortable experience suitable for a wide range of ages and abilities. Along the journey, guests can take in towering canyon walls, hidden coves, waterfalls, and unique natural features while watching for local wildlife such as desert bighorn sheep, great blue herons, osprey, and other species that call Black Canyon home.

Guests can choose from two signature experiences. Because these are smooth-water, motorized rafting experiences, no paddling or previous rafting experience is required. The knowledgeable crew brings the canyon to life through stories about Hoover Dam, the Colorado River, the area’s history, wildlife, and natural environment.

Tour Details

Canyon Classic – Full Black Canyon Experience

This signature adventure takes guests on a scenic journey from the base of Hoover Dam through the spectacular Black Canyon of the Colorado River.

• Approximately six hours door to door / three hours on the water
• 12-mile journey
• Motorized, smooth-water rafting / No paddling required
• Incredible views from the base of Hoover Dam
• Travel through Black Canyon to Willow Beach
• Shoreline stop with an opportunity to swim in the Colorado River
• Boxed lunch included (Turkey wrap, bottle of water, chips, apple, and a cookie). Gluten free/ vegetarian available with advance notice
• Wildlife viewing opportunities, including desert bighorn sheep, and a variety of birds
• Historical and natural interpretation from the experienced crew
• Transportation provided from check-in to the launch area and from Willow Beach following the tour

Postcard Tour – Hoover Dam from the Colorado River

Perfect for guests with limited time, the Postcard Tour offers an approximately 90 minute smooth-water rafting experience showcasing Hoover Dam and the upper Black Canyon from an unforgettable perspective.

• Approximately four hours door-to-door / 90 minutes on the water
• 3-mile loop
• Motorized, smooth-water rafting / No paddling required
• Launch from the base of Hoover Dam
• Up-close views of Hoover Dam, the bypass bridge, and towering canyon walls
• Scenic journey through the upper Black Canyon

Cost Details

• Postcard Tour: Adults (Ages 16+) are $69. Youth (Ages 5–15) are $49.
• Canyon Classic: Adults (Ages 16+) are $125. Youth (Ages 5–15) are $110.
• Children up to 4 years old are free.
• National Park Entrance Fee: A $15 National Park entrance fee applies to adults only and is not included in the Canyon Classic tour price. Guests who have a valid qualifying National Park pass may use their pass. Guests using a pass should bring the physical pass and a valid photo ID when applicable.

Groups

There is no minimum group size. For larger groups or private charters, advance reservations are recommended so we can coordinate transportation, rafting capacity, and other group needs. Accessibility

Hoover Dam Rafting Adventures strives to accommodate guests with accessibility requirements whenever possible. Because tours take place in a natural river environment, some accessibility conditions may vary based on water levels and shoreline conditions. Rafts and boarding rafts can accommodate guests with disabilities and collapsible wheelchairs. An accessible ramp provides access down to the water; however, due to natural water-level fluctuations, the final approach to the raft may include uneven, rocky terrain. Boarding the raft requires navigating two steps down into the raft. Crew is available to assist with boarding whenever possible. Shuttle buses are equipped with a wheelchair lift.

Advance notice is strongly recommended so we can ensure the appropriate transportation is available.

• Postcard Tour: Restrooms feature an automated entry door.
• Canyon Classic: Check-in exterior doors are not automated.
